Welcome to Cajon Pass Pictures Archive

Friday, December 24, 2004 Christmas Eve

I was wondering how Christmas Eve would be this year, well in terms of train action.  It was a very busy day for trains heading East, very few going West. First spot was Summit Valley as this consist flew through.

At Tell a clean, new Dash-9 came through.

Another look.

Then a UP flag unit came through.

A closer look.

After that I headed down and spotted this 8 engine consist through Cajon Station.

The same through North of Swarthout Road.

And another new Dash-9 heading up.

Then to my surprise I found a clean new UP SD70M with square doors! Pre-SD70Ace?

A closer look.

A closer look.

Then a rare sight was a 8-40CW on the point! And very clean for it's age.

A closer look.

Then a SD70 Conrail with no Patch!

I caught up to him in Silverwood to get a good series of pictures.

And then asked the Starship Enterprise to beam me over to Summit where I caught another series.

And last shot of the day was this un-patched SP GP40, former DRG&W.
